Using iPhone
Delete duplicate contacts by using either the Phone app or the contacts app on your iPhone. To do that:
On the home screen of your device, find the Contacts app or Phone appTap to open
Scroll the list to find the duplicate contacts that you want to deleteTap to openClick on the Edit button in the upper-right corner of the screenFind the Delete Contact option at the bottom of the screenTap to delete the contact

Using Mac
This could work only when your iCloud contacts are synced to your Mac if you own one. This is done in System Preferences by ensuring that the Contacts app is checked in the Apple ID submenu. Here is how it is done:
Open the Contacts app on MacClick on the Card optionChoose the Look for Duplicates… optionIf there are duplicates, you would be given the option to merge
Click on Merge
