Rebooting the Apple Watch (Guide with Pictures)
The steps in this article were performed on an Apple Watch 2, in Watch OS 3.1. These steps still work on newer Apple watch models as well, such as the Apple Watch Series 7.
Step 1: Press and hold the button on the side of the Apple Watch for three seconds.
Step 2: Tap and drag the Power Off button from the left side of the watch face to the right side.
It will take a moment for the watch to power down completely.
Step 3: Press and hold the button on the side of the Apple Watch to turn it back on.
After a few seconds you will see a white Apple logo. You can then let go of the button. Now that you know how to restart your Apple Watch you will be able to incorporate this option into your troubleshooting process whenever something doesn’t seem to be working properly with the smartwatch. Note that if you have a passcode set for your Apple Watch that you might need to entre it after the watch restarts.
