Viewing Taj Mahal at night Mahesh Sharma, the Union Minister of State Tourism, when contacted by PTI said that they have already cleared the proposal in this regard and would soon issue an order to start the procedure. Yet, there is no update whether there would be any changes in the timing. Presently, night viewing is allowed for 30 minutes from 8:30 p.m. to 00:30 a.m. It is also restricted to five nights, the full moon night, two days before and two days after. However, there are proposals to allow tourist enjoy the night view of the monument as per their convenience from the Mehtab Bagh, which is located just opposite to this monument. According to the reports, authorities are considering to make some infrastructural developments in the Mehtab Bagh to allow tourist at night. The reports also indicate that the authorities are planning to allow night entry from western gate instead of eastern gate, as it restricts the movements of the local people. With new developments on its way, the tourism ministry is expecting more tourists in the coming days.
